Hi everyone, just a small update. All pretty much old stuff i probably posted other places last year at some point. A wide array of stuff. Not been posting much, cause i have been working at trying to get better , and push myself in completely different directions with my art. So mostly just been sketching and not finishing stuff as much and doing lots of studies. Anyway, hope you like this stuff. Hopefully i can get more on the ball with posting. Note the barbies copyright atomic cartoons, and a few things Michele painted (supergirl, catwoman, etc.).

Well I guess better late than never. Every time I go a little bit of time without posting I tend to get some anxiety about posting new stuff. I know it sounds ridiculous but i start to fear posting anything new and start to over analyze everything i do . I really apologize to anyone that follows or checks back often. These come come from the past few months. Some traditional, some digital ect. I colored all the digital, and Michele did most of the colors on the painted ones. I even tried my hand at painting with the summer girls, with some help from Michele of course. The first one was more so me than the second two , where she helped alot more. Hopefully I can get more time to keep learning how to paint. I learn here and there from watching her tackle my drawings. She did a wonderful job on painting the top girl, I wish the scan did it more justice. I can say that there is alot more stuff on the way, alot of new pieces and bigger stuff in the works. Hope you all enjoy these.

Well here is some new stuff, some old, some new, and some in between, that has been building up. Sorry for taking so long, been super busy with a new job and freelance. Will probably update with sketch pages i have been scanning as well. Hopefully you enjoy this stuff. I think from now on i will just post single images and sketches instead of mega posts, to avoid waiting months before posting. Michele painted on the majority of these, except the Karen O looking one and the second Supergirl. Hope you enjoy!

Well as per the request of Dave Dick, I am updating my blog. Here is a bunch of new stuff. Michele painted the first two images and I am very pleased with the results. Last two pages are old freelance I never posted, so figured I would for the hell of it. Enjoy! Hopefully i will not wait 2 months to update next time.

Yeesh, been a while huh? Well I have still been busy and producing more and more work. Here is another megapost to show that I am still alive. An Obama, some traveling hobos, a Lady Snowblood, and some girls. Hope you enjoy! Had the pleasure of attending the Toronto Comicon end of last month and had the honor and privilege of sitting with Alberto Ruiz, Bobby Chiu and Kei Acedera (Buy their new Waterworlds book, incredible:)), Jason Seiler (amazing caricature artist and painter), and Matt Stewart. All of which blow my mind with their talent. Also was right near Stephen Silver who was also rad to meet again and get a copy of his sweet new book. It was my first time attending a con where I was behind the booth actually with something to sell so I was a bit nervous, excited, and overwhelmed. It was wonderful to meet so many great people that were interested in my work, and I would like to thank everyone that picked up a Hardcover, sketchbook, or print, it was greatly appreciated! I put together a new limited Toronto sketchbook with all new work to sell along with the Cream & Sugar Hardcovers. Here is the cover, along with some silkscreens, that were being sold as limited prints, as well as a few other newer pieces. Michele once again outdid herself with her ever increasing painting skills on these. Also including some other stuff, that was either done for freelance or for the hell of it. Lots more new stuff on the way:)

Sorry for the lack of updates been a tad busy with work related things. I do not know if i have mentioned it before, but i am currently working as a designer at Fatkat animation studio in New brunswick Canada. UFS (Unidentified Flying Sombraros) is a pitch that Buddy Bolton(head of development) and Big hug productions came up with, and I designed all the characters. Here are some examples of what I normally do on a daily basis. Hope you like them. The pack just got finished and it looks pretty awesome. UFS is copyright of Fatkat animation and Bighug Productions.

Short Leash Colors....

Well here is the latest gag pin-up collaboration between victor roa and I. Me on pencils & Inks again, and him once again on glorious colors. This book is coming together slowly but surely. And I plan on packing it full of extra added stuff on top of the gag pin-ups. I just finished the inks on the christmas gag pin-up, so stay tuned for that one in the coming week. I apologize for my lack of updates on my blog. I plan on changing that this week and posting more behind the scene sketches and other personal sketchwork and pieces, other than ones devoted to the completion of this book. For now enjoy this!!!

Apparently Blogger is not letting me post a title for this update. But here it is, at long last, the colors for this piece, which i must say, my close friend Victor Roa is a computer coloring genius. He effectively translated a digital water coloring style to this piece flawlessly. The results are breathtaking. Enjoy everyone!! More posts to come this weekend. I promise, I have a few things up my sleave at the moment, muhahaha... ha... ha... ha..........

Well I guess it was only a matter of time before I started one of these things. Hopefully people will be inspired to bookmark this and come back and read my random bullshit. I hope to keep up with this and post regularily. At the moment I am knee deep in putting together a book of classic gag pin-ups in the tradition of all the great Playboy pin-up artist, and artists from lesser known men's mags. It will be entitled Cream & Sugar: The Pin-Up Art of Justin Coffee. I hope to have it finished by the time SDCC rolls around next year. So this blog will document this process as well as be a place for me to post other sketches and finished pieces. Hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoy creating them.
Side notes: Thanks to Victor Roa for is tremendous color stylings on the gag pinups, I would not want to see them any other way. And thanks to German Shible for his ink work on the Room service one and Jogging girls. It is extremely exciting to collab with these two fantastic artists.
